In brief: New report reveals pandemic impact on Guatemala’s exports

* According to the Guatemalan exporters’ association (Agexport), Guatemala’s exports totalled US$11bn in 2020, a 1.4% fall on the previous year as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Agexport, however, highlights that it had expected a much more dramatic fall of 7.5% in April and so the results were better than expected. According to an Agexport report, the main export markets were the US which accounted for 31.7% of total exports, El Salvador (11.3%), and Honduras (8.8%).
