BRAZIL: The vaccine is not an economic silver bullet

The Brazilian economy is set to recover this year. One reason for optimism is that a vaccination programme may begin to roll back the ravages of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The upside is that new vaccines are becoming available and an inoculation plan is, in theory, ready to launch by the end of January. In practice, however, there are fears that the programme could go badly wrong, compromising the hoped-for recovery.
