This is the smallest year-on-year contraction since February 2020. The figures show that the biggest falls were in hotels & restaurants (-53.2%) and transport & communications (-18.2%), while growth was registered in financial intermediation, which was up 11.7%; wholesale; retail & repair, up 3.9%; and manufacturing, up 3.7%. The United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Eclac) estimates that Argentina’s GDP contracted by 10.5% in 2020.
