PANAMA: Vaccine roll-out proves contentious

With the highest number of coronavirus (Covid-19) infections in Central America, Panama is the second country in the sub-region to have a national vaccination plan in place, after Costa Rica. However, the government led by President Laurentino Cortizo, which has previously faced complaints regarding the use of state resources assigned to tackle the health emergency [WR-20-18], is now facing complaints of irregularities regarding the vaccination scheme from doctors and health-care professionals.
