MEXICO | Violence eases in Juárez. The federal public security ministry (SSP) reported that over the past two months the number of deaths attributed to the inter-cartel fighting in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, had almost halved, from 299 cases in October to 150 in November. The ministry linked this to the fact that since 9 April public security in Juárez has been in the hands of a 5,000-strong contingent of federal police officers.
