In brief: Paraguay’s inflation slows

* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released new figures which show monthly inflation in February 2021 was 0.1%, bringing the accumulated rate to 0.6% and the year-on-year rate to 2.5%. This is less than the 2.6% year-on-year inflation rate registered in January 2021 but higher than the 2.4% year-on-year inflation rate registered in February 2020. Inflation closed 2020 at 2.2% and the BCP has set a target of 4% inflation for 2021.
