HONDURAS | Trade deficit. Honduras posted a trade deficit of US$4.7bn in 2020, 23.3% lower than in 2019, according to figures released by the central bank (BCH). A BCH report attributed the improvement in the trade balance to the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and the damage produced by hurricanes ‘Eta’ and ‘Iota’, which hit the Central American country in November 2020.
