BRAZIL: Vaccine tumult as Covid deaths reach new milestone

On 29 April, Ricardo Barros, the government leader in Brazil’s federal chamber of deputies, accused the federal sanitary regulator (Anvisa) of disrupting the government’s timeline of vaccination against the coronavirus (Covid-19) after Anvisa denied an import licence for Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine.
