In brief: Mexico’s unemployment rises

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest data from the national employment survey (Enoe), which show that unemployment in the first quarter of 2021 was 4.4% - an increase of 0.9 percentage points on the same period in 2020. According to the Inegi data, the national underemployment rate stood at 13.8% in the first quarter of 2021, up from 8.4% in the same period in 2020.
