MEXICO: Disappointing job recovery marked by precariousness, inequality

Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) released its latest unemployment figures on 22 April, which show that this reached 3.89% in March, the lowest level so far in the year. This followed unemployment rates of 4.37% and 4.73% in February and January, respectively. By sector, agricultural and livestock activities recorded the most significant reduction of unemployment, followed by hospitality.
