MEXICO: Nationwide drought is warning of things to come

Mexico has been suffering from a major drought for a number of weeks now. The situation is so bad that water reservoirs in many parts of the country are at historically low levels, and this has been affecting agricultural food production. The prolonged lack of rains is also causing major forest fires around the country. Even the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) has alerted of the situation. Experts warn that this could become a recurrent problem for Mexico unless more is done in the country to better manage water resources and combat climate change.
