Focus bulletin, a weekly survey of economists and analysts, in which the GDP forecast for the year has been revised up by 0.4 percentage points compared with the previous issue a week earlier. Brazil’s GDP is now projected to grow 4.36% in 2021 according to the analysts surveyed by the BCB. This bullish revision was the seventh consecutive upwards revision of the GDP forecast in the
Focus bulletin, and follows the release of Brazil’s strong Q1 GDP figures last week, which showed that the Brazilian economy grew 1.2% in Q1 compared with the previous quarter, and has returned to the levels of Q4 2019, before the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic struck.
