* Ecuador’s state-owned oil company, Petroecuador, has announced that it has begun preparations for the drilling of 11 new production wells in the Amazon area, which will begin in the second half of 2021. A Petroecuador press release stated that a drilling campaign will take place in the Ishipingo-Tambacocha-Tiputini (ITT) oil field that straddles the provinces of Napo and Pastaza, as well as in the Sacha oil field in Orellana province. A further nine oil wells will be drilled in the Sushufindi, Auca, Cuyabeno, Parahuacu, Uralpa y Oso, Libertador, Pañacocha, Pucuna, and Blaca-Vinita oil fields. Energy Minister
