* Karina Gómez, the president of Paraguay’s national minimum wage council (Conasam), a tripartite commission comprising representatives of the state, employers, and workers, has announced that she will submit a proposal to the executive to increase the monthly minimum wage by 4.4% to G$2.28m (US$338). According to Conasam, this is based on a 4.4% increase in inflation since the last minimum wage adjustment in 2019. The proposal has now been passed on to President Mario Abdo Benítez and, if approved, should come into force on 1 July.
