In brief: Agreement to develop major green projects in Brazil’s Ceará

* The French-based renewable energy company, Qair, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the government of the Brazilian state of Ceará to develop a green hydrogen plant and an offshore wind farm. Qair will invest an estimated total of US$6.95bn into the projects, which are expected to generate some 2,000 jobs in the construction phase and 600 long-term jobs. Ceará governor, Camilo Santana, said that the state is a pioneer in Brazil for its commitment to non-fossil fuel energy and pledged to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) in green technologies.
