CUBA: Summary trials continue as US ramps up pressure

A Cuban supreme court (TSP) magistrate, Joselín Sánchez Hidalgo, last week reported that 62 trials had taken place linked to the unprecedented anti-government protests which erupted last month over economic and health-related grievances [WR-21-28] but insisted that due process had been followed. The US government led by President Joe Biden, meanwhile, backed up its condemnation of the government crackdown with action.
