* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released the latest issue of its survey on expectations for economic variables (EVE), a survey of economists and analysts, in which GDP growth forecasts have risen compared with a month earlier. The August EVE now predicts average 4% GDP growth for Paraguay this year, up from 3.5% in the July issue. Meanwhile, forecasts for inflation have also risen, with inflation now expected to close the year at 4.1%, up from previous projections of 3.5%. This inflation forecast is roughly in line with the BCP’s target rate of 4%, while the EVE’s GDP projections are less optimistic than the BCP, which currently forecasts 4.5% growth for this year.
