In brief: Report highlights viability of flights from Mexico’s AIFA airport

* Mexico’s communications & transport ministry (SCT) has presented its latest progress report on the new Metropolitan Airport System (SAM) for Mexico City, which integrates the expansion of the Toluca international airport, the Mexico City international airport (AICM), and the 'Felipe Ángeles' international airport (AIFA) which is currently under construction in Santa Lucía, Estado de México. According to the SCT, the results presented indicated that flights to and from AIFA are completely viable for “simultaneous operation with AICM and Toluca”. It cited various “analyses of scenarios and evaluations” which demonstrate that the new routes “comply with national and international norms”.
