BRAZIL | Central bank continues monetary tightening. The monetary policy committee (Copom) in Brazil’s central bank (BCB) unanimously agreed to raise the benchmark interest rate (Selic) by 100 basis points to 6.25% on 22 September. This is the fifth consecutive rate hike since Copom began raising the Selic in March and the second consecutive 100 basis-point increase.
