In brief: Experts raise Mexico’s growth forecast

* Private sector economists consulted by Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) have raised their forecast for Mexico’s GDP growth in 2021 to 6.15%. This is up from 5.99% in August and approaching Banxico’s own latest GDP forecast of 6.2% growth. The surveyed economists also raised their forecasts for inflation, expecting this to close 2021 at 6.28%, up from 6.06% in their August estimate and well above Banxico’s 3% +/-1 inflation target range for 2021.
