* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released its latest inflation report, which shows that monthly inflation stood at 1.0% in September, bringing annual inflation to 6.4%. This compares with monthly inflation of 0.3% and annual inflation of 1.6% in September 2020. The BCP cites rising food prices as well as high prices for fuel and for home repair materials as contributing to September inflation. Paraguay’s annual inflation rate is currently well beyond the BCP’s 4% target rate for 2021.
