MEXICO: Gas distributors stage protests

On 11 October private gas suppliers carried out protests in more than a dozen locations across Mexico City (CDMX) against price caps imposed by Mexico’s federal energy regulatory commission (CRE). They threatened work stoppages involving 10,000 employees, 6,500 delivery trucks, and 100 distribution centres in and around CDMX. They also warned that strike action could extend to other states including Oaxaca, Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, Morelos, and Estado de México (Edomex).
