In brief: Colombia’s Duque hails ‘historic’ minimum salary rise

* Colombia’s President Iván Duque has announced an agreement reached with the private sector and unions to raise the monthly minimum salary by 10.07% as of next year to C$1m (US$250). He said it was the most important increase to the minimum wage in nearly 50 years. The latest figures from Colombia’s national statistics institute (Dane) show national annual inflation in November was 5.26%.
