In brief: Honduras’s inflation picks up

* Honduras’s central bank (BCH) has released new figures which show monthly inflation in Honduras was 0.96% in December 2021, bringing the annual rate to 5.32% (up from 4.01% in December 2020). Driven by rises in food prices, the monthly rate for December was the highest of the year, up from 0.75% in November; 0.53% in October and 0.45% in September. It was also outside of the 4% +/-1 inflation target range for 2021 set by the BCH.
