In brief: Honduras’s foreign debt rises

* Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures which show that the country’s foreign debt (public and private combined) totalled US$11.32bn as of the end of November 2021. This is up by US$341.1m on the US$10.98bn recorded at year-end 2020, and compares to the US$11.13bn recorded in November 2020. Of the total amount of Honduras’ foreign debt, US$9.29bn corresponds to public sector debt, and US$2.03bn to the private sector.
