SURINAME: Time of the essence as Suriname gains support from IMF and IDB

On 16 December 2021, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a new Country Strategy for Suriname covering the period 2021-2025. And on 22 December 2021, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a new 36-month agreement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Suriname, equivalent to US$688m, thus facilitating the immediate disbursement of US$55.1m.
