MEXICO: New Banxico governor takes office

Victoria Rodríguez Ceja, a former deputy finance (SHCP) minister became the first female governor of Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) on 1 January. She took over the post from Alejandro Díaz de León, who was appointed by former president Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018) in 2017. Her term will end on 31 December 2027.
