MEXICO: Authorities intercept 3,000 migrants in two days

On 23 January, Mexico’s national migration institute (INM) announced it had intercepted over 3,000 migrants in the past 48 hours. The migrants were stopped as they were making the journey north to the US and sent to Mexican immigration offices.
