GUATEMALA: Rights groups hail sentencing in civil-war era case
On 24 January a Guatemalan court handed down 30-year prison sentences to five former members of the Patrullas de Autodefensa Civil (PAC), local militias created by the government during the 1960-1996 internal conflict, in connection with the rape of indigenous Maya Achí women.
