In brief: Chile’s exports rise

* Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has announced that Chile’s exports totalled US$8.36bn in January, representing a year-on-year increase of 16.9%. The strong performance in January was driven by a 15.4% year-on-year increase in mineral exports, which amounted to US$4.25bn. Industrial exports were up 27.5%, amounting to US$2.74bn, while agricultural exports were up 4.2% to total US$1.36bn.
