ARGENTINA: Major forest fires spread in Corrientes
On 14 February Argentina’s national agriculture and livestock technology agency (INTA) reported that satellite monitoring showed that forest fires in Argentina’s Corrientes province which borders Paraguay, Brazil and Uruguay, have increased by a factor of six since mid-January, and are now affecting just under 519,000 hectares (ha).
