In brief: Brazil’s Embraer reports aircraft delivery stats

* Brazilian aeroplane maker Embraer has released a note announcing that it delivered 55 aircraft in the final quarter of 2021, bringing the total number of aircraft delivered last year to 141. This is up from 130 in 2020, a year that Embraer posted a poor performance amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and the collapse of a planned joint venture with the US’s Boeing, but remains below 2019 production levels when 198 aircraft were delivered across the company’s commercial and executive jets divisions. Embraer also revealed that, as of 31 December 2021, its backlog totalled US$17bn, the highest figure since the second quarter of 2018. The aeroplane maker will release full 2021 results in March.
