Brazil: On 19 February Brazil’s foreign ministry rejected remarks made the previous day by US White House Press Secretary
Jen Psaki in response to President
Jair Bolsonaro’s recent
visit to Russia, where he met President
Vladimir Putin and expressed solidarity with the Russian president. When asked whether Bolsonaro’s recent visit affected US-Brazil relations, Psaki said that she had not discussed Bolsonaro’s comments with President
Joe Biden but “

And so, I think Brazil may be on the other side of where the majority of the global community stands.” A statement by Brazil’s foreign ministry said that it lamented her comments.
