In brief: Unemployment falls in Colombia

* Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has released the latest employment figures, showing that unemployment hit 14.6% in January – down 2.9 percentage points on the same month in 2021. According to Dane, 3.55m people were unemployed in January, while 20.69m were in work. A further 14.50m people were categorised as being out of the workforce. Gender inequalities in employment persisted in January, with 11.2% of men unemployed compared to 19.4% of women.
