BRAZIL: Alckmin seals the deal with PSB
On 23 March, former São Paulo state governor Geraldo Alckmin (2001-2006; 2011-2018) formally affiliated himself with the centre-left Partido Socialista Brasileiro (PSB), paving the way for his expected alliance with erstwhile rival, former leftist president Lula da Silva (2003-2011), ahead of Brazil’s October presidential elections.
