CHILE: Boric off to slow start
Despite his best intentions, Chile’s President Gabriel Boric has not managed to hit the ground running. One of the reasons for this is that he has immediately been bogged down by two controversial congressional initiatives: a fifth pension withdrawal, and the declaration of an amnesty for those imprisoned for involvement in the social uprising that began in October 2019.
