Gabriela Mendoza, has announced that Bolivia’s GDP grew by 6.1% in 2021, following a contraction of 8.7% in 2020 as a result of the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Mendoza said that last year’s growth was principally driven by strong year-on-year increases in domestic demand (+9.2%) and public investment (+11.79%), and that the sectors that saw the most growth were mining (+37.6%), transport and storage (+21.8%), and construction (+17.8%). She added that the government is anticipating growth of 5.1% in 2022.
