BRAZIL: Petrobras CEO ousted after education minister resigns

Two important figures lost their jobs on 28 March in Brazil. First, Milton Ribeiro resigned as education minister, amid growing pressure following allegations of corruption and influence peddling on his watch. This was swiftly followed by the announcement that Joaquim Silva e Luna, a retired general who was appointed CEO of the state-controlled oil company Petrobras last April, would be replaced by Adriano Pires, a well-known oil & gas consultant.
