EL SALVADOR: Bukele hammers gangs after surge in violence

Security forces in El Salvador reported the capture of more than 2,000 mara gang members on 28 and 29 March in upwards of 50 security operations around the country. President Nayib Bukele instructed the legislative assembly to declare a state of exception and ordered a swingeing crackdown on the gangs.
