* Brazil’s national federation of automobile dealers (Fenabrave) has released figures on the sector’s performance in March, which show that the sale of cars has collapsed compared with last year. Just over 108,000 cars were sold in Brazil in March this year, a 23.73% reduction on March 2021, while the sale of light commercial vehicles fell 24.19% year-on-year in March. Car sales did pick up 8.24% in March compared with February, but overall, in the first quarter of the year, Fenabrave reports that just 300,455 cars were sold – a 25.03% reduction on sales in Q1 2021. Sales of cars, light commercial vehicles, lorries, and buses combined totalled 405,616 units in Q1 2022, a 23.15% year-on-year drop, and reportedly the worst figures on Fenabrave’s records, which begun in 2002.
