In brief: Guatemala and Honduras see remittance boom in Q1

* Remittances to Guatemala and Honduras have surged in the first quarter of 2022, according to new data released by those countries’ central banks. In Guatemala, remittances between January and March were up 25.5% compared to the same period in 2021, amounting to US$3.93bn. In Honduras, remittances totalled US$1.93bn in Q1, up 22% year-on-year.
