In brief: Tourism rebounding in Argentina

* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has announced that international tourism to Argentina increased by 664.2% in February, compared to the same month in 2021 when travel was severely disrupted due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. In February this year, Indec recorded 84,900 international visits to Argentina – the second-highest figure since the onset of the pandemic, but still significantly below the 238,800 that were recorded in February 2020 before the imposition of travel restrictions. The largest share of tourists in February 2022 were from Europe (29,700), followed by the US and Canada (17,400) and Chile (11,100).
