* Brazil’s foreign minister,
Carlos França, has held talks with his Turkish counterpart,
Mevlüt Çavusoglu, to discuss the possibility of a free trade agreement (FTA) between Turkey and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), comprising Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Following the meeting, França said that Brazil
“is open to discussing the resumption of negotiations” on a possible Turkey-Mercosur FTA. França and Çavusoglu also signed memorandums of understanding on trade cooperation, tourism, and culture, with França stating that
“Brazil has the potential to increase its tourism” by following
“the Turkish model”.
