EL SALVADOR: Gang crackdown extended

The crackdown on suspected members of mara gangs in El Salvador is continuing apace, sparking concerns of human rights violations. In an extraordinary session on 24 April, the government-controlled legislative assembly extended the state of exception in the country for a further 30 days at President Nayib Bukele’s behest.
