In brief: Mexico raises interest rates again

* Mexico's central bank (Banxico) has raised its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points to 7.0% – its eighth consecutive rate hike – in another attempt to rein in inflation which was running at 7.68% annually in April. Banxico also revised up its inflation forecast for end of 2022 to 6.4%, up from 5.5% in its previous (24 March) forecast.
