In brief: Cuba’s inflation remains high

*Cuba’s national statistics institute (Onei) has released new figures which show that monthly inflation in April was 3.54%, bringing the year-on-year rate to 23.69%. This compares with a monthly rate of 1.88% and a 60.78% year-on-year rate in April 2021. Monthly inflation in April 2022 was driven by food & drink which was up 6.37% and restaurants & hotels (up 3.21%).
