DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: IMF impressed by economic resilience

The Dominican Republic’s economy grew by 6.4% in March according to the monthly index of economic activity (IMAE) compiled by the central bank (BCRD) and published in early May. This brought first-quarter GDP growth to 6.1%, one of the fastest rates of expansion in Latin America. An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission has praised the country’s economic management.
