CHILE: FTC calls off copper strike
On 23 June Chile’s umbrella copper miners’ union Federación de Trabajadores del Cobre (FTC) ended a strike called a day earlier over the permanent closure of the Ventanas smelter in the central region of Valparaíso by the state-owned copper company Codelco.
