PERU: Castillo snubs corruption hearing

President Pedro Castillo once again drew the ire of congress on 27 June when he snubbed a congressional commission investigating his alleged involvement in the granting of corrupt contracts [WR-22-09]. Castillo’s failure to meet the commission came as his government is also taking heavy criticism for a bill that would prevent the media from covering corruption allegations until they are heard in court.
