In brief: Brazil soybean exports down

*Brazil’s association of vegetable oil industries (Abiove) has released a new report which states that soybean exports reached 53m t in the first half of 2022, based on data from the economy ministry. This is 7.8% lower than the amount reported for the same period last year, when exports totalled 57.5m t. Abiove also reduced its estimate of soybean exports for this year from 77m tonnes (t) to 76.8m t. However, in its latest monthly report, Abiove raised its projection for internal processing of soybean from 48.1m t to 48.3m t and for production from 125.5m t to 125.8m t. The estimate for imports rose from 300,000 t to 350,000 t this year, with the final stock forecast by Abiove at 3.167m t, compared to the 2.817m t projected last month.
